This seminar completes the module by returning to the experience of professional caregivers. Responding to the second part of a two-part video, participants are invited to incorporate what they have learned thus far from this module into their clinical practice. Particular attention will be given to the parallel process of suffering, meaning-making, and spiritual searching engaged in by professional caregivers as they accompany children and families through the end of life.

Learning Objectives

Participants will be able to:

  • Identify their own experiences of sense-making and meaning-making in their work with dying children and their families.
  • Explore and identify the role and impact of spirituality and/or religion in their professional development.
  • Identify ways their own institution either encourages or discourages opportunities for reflection and dialogue regarding the professional caregiver experience.
